So, you know how I was taking about the blog Chocolate Covered Katie in my last post?  Well, since the cookies turned out so well I decided to make one of her muffin recipes for breakfast.  I mixed all the ingredients together, and then I realized that I did not have a muffin tin.  Great.  So I turn the muffins into cookies.  It's the only option.  I stick the now cookies into the oven.  A couple minutes later, the most delicious smell is radiating from the oven.  Yay.  When I take them out of the oven, there are literally tears of joy.  They are gorgeous.  But, they taste even better.  And everybody loved them, even the little kids!  This is a perfect weekday breakfast!  Have fun trying out Chocolate Covered Katie's recipes!

Ok, so last night I was searching the internet for something yummy to make for dessert.  Then, I stumbled upon the blog Chocolate Covered Katie.  Wow.  Everybody look at this blog because she makes the most delicious, for the most part pretty healthy, desserts.  And when I found these homemade Oreos, I couldn't resist trying them.  When I first started making them, I had low hopes.  It just seemed wrong to be able to recreate something as good as the Oreo in my own home.  But the the cookies finished baking, and when you are baking cookies, it is your duty to eat one of the cookies no matter what.  So I ate one.  And then I cried because these cookies were so wonderful.  Now I will never buy Oreos ever again.  I will just make these beautiful cookies.  Please, please, please try these they changed my life and I think they will change yours too.  I don't have a picture, unfortunately (let's just say i wasn't great at putting the Oreo together), but you have to trust me on this!  Thank you!

I know I have discussed banana whip before.  A healthy dessert that tastes like ice cream genius.  Thank you to whoever invented this.  But last night we put a very nice twist on this dessert.  We added a dollop of peanut butter and a tablespoon of cocoa powder, and yum.  Yum.  Yummy.  There is nothing else to say.  So please make this at home.  Your family will forever praise you for this.

Last night we had steak for dinner!  This is a big deal for us because it is always chicken, never steak.  And it was time for a change.  And it was delicious.  I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty convinced that teriyaki sauce is the best kind of sauce out there.  On the side, we had cornbread.  I know that doesn't sound like a big deal either, but his cornbread was AMAZING.  I ate almost all of it so there wasn't much left for everyone else, but who cares.
We are going to film our Food Network audition tape today!  We are super excited to send it in, because in the small chance that we get the part, it would really help us along on our mission to share our love for food with everyone!  Also, thank you so much for our most recent comments!  We really, really appreciate your support!  And everyone out there, remember to tell your friends about us!  Thanks!

Ok so tonight we made arguably one of the best dinners we have ever made in our lives.  I was like actually dying it was so good.  Dying.  So we decided that we wanted to make something asian flared and what better thing to make than a stir-fry?  We took an outing to the grocery store and carefully selected the perfect veggies (broccoli, cucumbers, red peppers, carrots, and onions) to put in our meal.  So we cooked them all up with some soy-vay teriyaki sauce and some grilled chicken and some brown rice and wow.  Wow.  That's all I can say.
But that's sort of beside the point.  We have some really exciting news.  We noticed today that the food network was casting a food blogger to guest star on a new TV show, and we decided that we really wanted to send in an audition video.  We know it's a really small chance that we would ever get to guest star, but it would mean the world to us.  The thing is, though, that we would probably have to get this blog a lot more popular in order to have a chance, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell all of your friends about us and tell your friends to tell their friends.  Thank you so much guys we really appreciate your help!

Well, tonight dinner was just straight up delicious.  We made grilled chicken and veggies with whole wheat cous cous.  Yum.  But, I also decided that I wanted to attempt to make my first ever balsamic reduction sauce.  So, I put 2 cups of balsamic vinegar in a saucepan, put the stove on medium heat, and waited until it boiled.  Easy enough.  Then, I turned the temperature down to a simmer and waited, and waited, and waited.  And waited.  The vinegar kept reducing smaller, and smaller, but I didn't see it getting any thicker.  So i waited some more.  Finally I looked it up on the internet and decided to put it in the fridge to see if it would condense.  But it didn't.  I don't know, maybe it would have if I had been more patient.  I am definitely going to try again soon!  If anybody has any tips on the balsamic reduction sauce, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE comment and teach me your ways.  Thank you so much!

Sorry that everything I post has to do with watermelon.  Actually, sorry but not sorry.  Watermelon is delicious people.  And today I made a delicious smoothie out of my delicious watermelon.  And it was sooooooo easy.  There are only 4 ingredients.  And one of them is ice so that doesn't count.  I put 1 and 1/2 cups of watermelon (or more if you're obsessed with watermelon like me and you just NEED more), 1 peeled, halved kiwi, and 1 pitted medjool date.  Ok, i know, i know, dates are kind of weird, but I use them ALL THE TIME while cooking and they add a nice flavor and color to the smoothie, so please do not skip out on them.  Try this out!  Its so sweet that even little kids love it!

Sorry for not posting yesterday!  I've been a little behind.  So today I will describe for you the Minestrone Soup that we made two nights ago for our dinner.  Well, as usual, it was delicious.
It has vegetable broth, tomatoes, garlic, carrots, onions, celery, black pepper, dried oregano, fresh basil, a pinch of salt, tomato paste, chickpeas, kidney beans, and corn.  As you can see, it was EXTREMELY fresh and delicious, and everybody loved it.  It was super easy to make in the blender.  Then, you can either chill it or heat it on the stove.
Ok, this is sort of a double post because I am going to tell you about the Farmer's Market too!  Today we got there super early, like the minute it opens early.  And it was already packed, people everywhere trying to frantically get their beloved blueberry pies before they were all out.  Well, we got into the line where they sell the blueberry pies, completely not expecting to get a blueberry pie, hoping instead for a mere breakfast cookie.  But, SURPRISE!  There was ONE pie left!  And we got it!  It looks absolutely delicious and I can't wait to eat it all up!  Yummy yummy!
